The journal covers the large variety of modern techniques in cognitive neuroscience, including lesion-based approaches as well as functional and structural brain imaging, electrophysiology, cellular and molecular neurobiology, genetics, and computational modeling. All articles must relate to human language and be relevant to an elaboration of its neurobiological basis. Brill’s Annual of Afroasiatic Languages and Linguistics is a peer-reviewed international forum devoted to the descriptive and theoretical study of Afroasiatic languages. The territory of the Afroasiatic family spans a vast area to the South of the Mediterranean, extending from the Atlantic Ocean to the Middle East and reaching deep into the heart of Africa. Some of the Afroasiatic languages have been studied for centuries, while others still remain partially or entirely undocumented.

BJHP publishes articles and reviews on the history of philosophy and related intellectual history from the ancient world to the end of the 20th Century.
