The Journal of Sexual Medicine publishes multidisciplinary basic science and clinical research to define and understand the scientific basis of male and female sexual function and dysfunction. As the official journal of the International Society for Sexual Medicine and the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health, it provides healthcare professionals in sexual medicine with essential educational content and promotes the exchange of scientific information generated from experimental and clinical research.
The Journal of Special Education (SED) provides research articles and scholarly reviews on special education for individuals with mild to severe disabilities. The journal publishes traditional, ethnographic, and single-subject research; intervention studies, integrative reviews on timely issues, and critical commentaries; and special thematic issues.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) regrets to inform you that we have decided to discontinue our involvement in the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals (Academy). As you know, PVA has made a significant investment of time and resources in supporting the Academy and the educational activities of the Congress of Spinal Cord Medicine over the past two years. We respect the desire of the Academy leadership to completely control the future direction of the organization, but as our vision of the relationship was that of a true partnership, we have decided that our interests lie in a different direction. We value the opportunity that we had to work with the Academy governance board and its members, and wish the Academy leadership well in future endeavors.
The Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is devoted to new experimental and theoretical developments in areas related to steroids. The Journal publishes a variety of contributions, including original articles, general and focused reviews, and rapid communications (brief articles of particular interest and clear novelty). Selected cutting-edge topics will be addressed in Special Issues managed by Guest Editors. Special Issues will contain both commissioned reviews and invited original research to provide comprehensive coverage of specific topics, and all articles will undergo rigorous peer-review prior to publication. The JSBMB publishes experimental work, review articles and letters (commentaries).Manuscripts relating to unsolved issues in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, structural biology, steroid chemistry, cell biology, molecular medicine, and clinical medicine, are encouraged. Both basic and clinical areas of research are within the scope of the Journal, provided they address mechanisms or yield a functional explanation of processes involving steroids. A further aim of the Journal is to provide steroid-related tools, synthesis and analysis methods, and reference data.Contributions on case studies or descriptions of new compounds should provide new functional data. Otherwise they will be not considered. Reports on translational research are encouraged. The aims of the Journal cover studies on steroid signal transduction pathways, functional annotation of genes and kinetics of metabolic pathways, as well as the creation of enduring and validated resources for metabolomics and systems biology analyses. Furthermore, the Journal also publishes results on lipid research, functional association studies or 'omics' that are instrumental in our understanding of common complex human diseases like metabolic syndrome, diabetes or obesity. Further aspects like steroid-related cancers or neurosteroids are within the scope of the Journal. The Journal aims to enhance our understanding, and the development of approaches to study, the interplay between the environment, genomes, metabolism and disease.Studies that are based on observations performed in a single cell line will not generally be viewed favourably for publication. The experiments should ideally include experiments with comparable cell lines to demonstrate generality or specificity of the effects or mechanisms.US National Institutes of Health (NIH) voluntary posting ("Public Access") policyJournal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Elsevier facilitate the author's response to the NIH Public Access Policy. The Journal presents original, peer-reviewed articles on conditions of the chest, heart, lungs, and great vessels where surgical intervention is indicated. An official publication of The American Association for Thoracic Surgery and The Western Thoracic Surgical Association, the Journal focuses on techniques and developments in cardiac surgery, pacemaker insertion/removal, lung and esophageal surgeries, heart and lung transplantation, and other procedures.
The Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, the official publication for the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, provides an interdisciplinary forum for the dissemination of peer-reviewed original articles regarding trauma and acute care surgery. Papers focus on the clinical management of trauma, emergency surgery, the molecular biology of traumatic injury, the care of critically ill patients, and legal/policy concerns related to trauma. The Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery serves as a primary reference for professionals who are involved in the scientific and evidence-based care of traumatic and acute injury. The Journal publishes original articles, review articles, guidelines, current opinions, procedures and techniques, brief reports and, periodically, special reports.
