The Journal publishes reports of original research on all aspects of psychotherapy, including its outcomes, its processes, education of practitioners, and delivery of services. It also publishes methodological, theoretical, and review articles of direct relevance to psychotherapy research. Qualitative Research in Psychology aims to become the primary forum for qualitative researchers in all areas of psychology8211; cognitive, social, developmental, educational, clinical, health, and forensic8211;as well as for those conducting psychologically relevant qualitative research in other disciplines. Qualitative Research in Psychology is dedicated to exploring and expanding the territory of qualitative psychological research, strengthening its identity within the international research community and defining its place within the undergraduate and graduate curriculum. The journal will be broad in scope, presenting the full range of qualitative approaches to psychological research. The journal aims to firmly establish qualitative inquiry as an integral part of the discipline of psychology; to stimulate discussion of the relative merits of different qualitative methods in psychology; to provide a showcase for exemplary and innovative qualitative research projects in psychology; to establish appropriately high standards for the conduct and reporting of qualitative research; to establish a bridge between psychology and the other social and human sciences where qualitative inquiry has a proven track record; and to place qualitative psychological inquiry appropriately within the scientific, paradigmatic and philosophical issues that it raises. Previously published in two sections, Human Experimental Psychology (Section A) and Comparative and Physiological Psychology (B) the Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology merged in 2006 to form a single journal.The Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology is a leading international journal that publishes original articles on any topic within the field of experimental psychology. The journal publishes Rapid Communication articles (under 3,000 words) reporting novel techniques or ground breaking results, as well as substantial experimental reports. The journal offers an Open Access option, approved by the Wellcome Trust and other funders.The journal is keen to encourage submissions across a broad range of areas in experimental psychology, including those reporting work on human and animal subjects. Manuscripts including the use of functional brain imaging are also encouraged, as are papers reporting computational modelling of behavioural data.QJEP offers a competitive publication time-scale. Accepted Rapid Communications have priority in the publication, and usually appear in print within a few months. We aim to publish all accepted (but uncorrected) articles online within 7 days.
