Adversity and Resilience Science
Adversity and Resilience Science (ARS) welcomes manuscripts focused on protective factors and processes that promote resilience in the face of adversity throughout the lifespan. ARS publishes empirical articles, informed practice reviews, literature reviews, brief reports, book/media reviews, and policy papers. Authors are encouraged to incorporate clinical and/or policy applications. Special issues highlight applied as well as basic science topics.
ARS includes manuscripts focused on childhood adversity (prenatal to age 18 years) from the fields of psychology, social work, education, human development and family science, public health, pediatrics, psychiatry, epidemiology, epigenetics, neuroscience, immunology, public policy, and related fields.

Africa Education Review has been in existence since 1972 under the name Educare. For many years it served as the in-house publication vehicle for members of staff in the Faculty of Education at the University of South Africa (Unisa). A decision was taken in 2003 that the journal should change in status from being an in-house journal to one that is housed in the Faculty of Education. The Journal has now become a publication outlet for academics nationally and internationally and has its home at the University of South Africa, South Africa. The Journal has been published biannually but will be published triennially as from 2011. Aims and ScopeAfrica Education Review is a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal that seeks the submission of unpublished articles on current educational issues. It encourages debate on theory, policy and practice on a wide range of topics that represent a variety of disciplines, interdisciplinary, cross-disciplinary and transdisciplinary interests on international and global scale. The journal therefore welcomes contributions from associated disciplines including sociology, psychology and economics.
Africa Journal of Management
AJOM welcomes manuscripts that develop, test, replicate or validate management theories, tools and methods with Africa as the starting point. The journal is open to a wide range of quality, evidence-based methodological approaches and methods that “link” “Western” management theories with Africa’s indigenous knowledge systems, methods and practice. The African Historical Review is the successor to Kleio: A Journal of Historical Studies from Africa, which was published by the Department of History at the University of South Africa (Unisa) for more than thirty-five years. It therefore has a long and distinguished history. Originally conceived as a research and teaching forum for histories taught in the Department and to promote the work of students and staff, the journal has more recently been transformed into a publication in which high quality articles on a wide variety of historical subjects have appeared. The outstanding level of professional research and writing displayed in the journal has been recognised internationally, and from 2004 it became an accredited academic journal in South Africa, earning subsidy from the Department of Education. It is being relaunched as the African Historical Review in order to attract both a broader readership and contributor base and to showcase scholarship beyond southern Africa thus emphasising its intention to articulate southern African studies with continental African scholarship. The African Historical Review is independent of any professional society or association. African Invertebrates is an international peer-reviewed journal that covers the taxonomy, systematics, biology, biogeography, ecology, conservation and palaeontology of Afrotropical invertebrates, whether terrestrial, freshwater or marine, published jointly by the Council of the KwaZulu-Natal Museum and Pensoft Publishers. A printed version of the journal is produced twice a year. All contributions are published in English (British Standard), with an option to add an abstract in any other language that uses Latin or Cyrillic alphabet. African (formerly South African) Journal of Marine Science provides an international forum for the publication of original, peer-reviewed contributions in all disciplines of marine research, including reports on new techniques and methods. The scope covers all aspects of marine science, from estuaries and coastal waters to the open ocean, from chemical and physical to biological oceanography, and including fisheries, socio-economic science, co-management, ecosystems and other topical advisory subjects. Contributions from African waters, including the Southern Ocean, are particularly encouraged, although not to the exclusion of those from elsewhere. They may take the form of a paper, a critical review or a short communication. The journal publishes proceedings of symposia in dedicated issues, as well as guest-edited suites on thematic topics in regular issues. The journal is produced by NISC in association with the Fisheries branch of the South African Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF). Acceptance of papers is the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Editors and members of the Editorial Advisory Board. African Journal of Range & Forage Science is the leading rangeland and pastoral journal in Africa. The Journal is dedicated to publishing quality original material that advances rangeland ecology and pasture management in Africa. Contributions reporting on research not done in Africa, which is applicable in Africa, are welcome. The Journal promotes both science and its application and authors are encouraged to explicitly identify the practical implications of their work. Peer-reviewed research papers and research notes deal primarily with all aspects of rangeland and pasture ecology and management, including the ecophysiology and biogeochemistry of rangelands and pastures, terrestrial plant8211;herbivore interactions (both domestic and wild), rangeland assessment and monitoring, effects of climate change on rangelands, rangeland and pasture management, rangeland rehabilitation, ecosystem services in support of production, conservation and biodiversity goals, and the identification and development of intensive and semi-intensive pasture and forage resources to meet livestock production needs in Africa. Articles highlighting transdisciplinary linkages among biophysical and social sciences that support management, policy and societal values are particularly encouraged. The Journal includes relevant book reviews and invited perspectives that contribute to the development of range and forage science in Africa.
