BBA Gene Regulatory Mechanisms includes reports that describe novel insights into mechanisms of transcriptional, post-transcriptional and translational gene regulation. Special emphasis is placed on papers that identify epigenetic mechanisms of gene regulation, including chromatin, modification, and remodeling. This section also encompasses mechanistic studies of regulatory proteins and protein complexes; regulatory or mechanistic aspects of RNA processing; regulation of expression by small RNAs; genomic analysis of gene expression patterns; and modeling of gene regulatory pathways. BBA General Subjects accepts for submission either original, hypothesis-driven studies or reviews covering subjects in biochemistry and biophysics that are considered to have general interest for a wide audience. Manuscripts with interdisciplinary approaches are especially encouraged.Preferred topics include medically important biochemistry/biophysics research and emerging areas such as nanobiology (nanoparticles, nanotoxicology, nanomedicine), systems biology (genomics, proteomics, lipidomics, glycomics, bioinformatics based on experimental approaches), chemical biology (chemical compounds, drug mechanisms, synthesis of novel compounds, click chemistry), structural biology (crystallography, NMR, multimeric proteins, protein dynamics), novel complexes (pure natural compounds, synthetic compounds, protein complexes, nucleic acid derivatives), cellular signaling (receptor signaling, protein phosphorylation cascades, phosphatases, secondary messengers, transcription regulation, gene expression), glycobiology (sugar metabolites and metabolism, glycosylated proteins, membrane protein, glycosylation, glycomics), redox biology (redox switches, glutathione and thioredoxin systems, oxygen and nitrogen radical species, superoxide, hydrogen peroxide, hydroxyl radical, nitric oxide, peroxides, hypoxia, redox regulation of transcription factors), neurobiology (neuronal growth factors and nerve signaling, glial cells, autonomic and central nervous systems), stem cells (differentiation, stem cell isolation and cultivation, growth factors), imaging methodologies and mechanistic characterization of compounds having biochemical importance and general interest (drug leads, toxicants, nutrients, metabolites).Authors must provide a sentence at submission stating the reason that the work described in the manuscript has general significance and interest to a wide audience. Claims of novelty do not suffice. The author statement will be used as an aid in the reviewing process and will be included in the final version of the accepted paper to orient readers of BBA General Subjects.

BBA Molecular Basis of Disease addresses the biochemistry and molecular genetics of disease processes and models of human disease. This journal covers aspects of aging, cancer, metabolic-, neurological-, and immunological-based disease. Manuscripts focused on using animal models to elucidate biochemical and mechanistic insight in each of these conditions, are particularly encouraged. Manuscripts should emphasize the underlying mechanisms of disease pathways and provide novel contributions to the understanding and/or treatment of these disorders. Highly descriptive and method development submissions may be declined without full review. BBA Clinical is an open access biomedical journal dedicated to human research. It brings together clinical and biochemical human studies, providing a new venue for researchers using observational studies and clinical trials to understand the molecular and biochemical processes involved in human disease.All articles in BBA Clinical should describe, in part or entirely, studies using human patient samples or human cohorts. Manuscripts should emphasize the implications that biochemical mechanisms have for the observed clinical findings, and focus on describing how the data contribute to understanding and treatment of the clinical condition. Highly descriptive and method-development submissions may be declined without review.Clinical areas of particular interest include aging, cancer, cardiovascular-, metabolic-, neurological-, and immunological-based diseases; the interactions that may occur among these diseases and conditions; and studies that examine early or pre-symptomatic states. Cross-sectional and prospective studies from well-established cohorts, and studies involving imaging methodologies, are particularly encouraged.Invited reviews and editorials, focused on cutting-edge aspects of clinical research, will appear on a regular basis to complement regular research articles. Unsolicited review articles will be considered only in exceptional cases, and should be preceded by a letter of enquiry from the author, outlining the proposed review and compelling reasons why the subject is timely and important.BBA Clinical is the clinical complement to BBA Molecular Basis of Disease, which focuses on the molecular and biochemical basis of such conditions in pre-clinical studies, such as cell culture and animal models.

BIOCELL welcomes articles reporting research on Cell and Molecular Biology, and on the suborganismal and organismal aspects of Vertebrate Reproduction and Development, Invertebrate Biology and Plant Biology. Brief reports are also accepted for publication under special circumstances. Review papers will be considered only after invitation by the Editorial Board.Manuscripts should be submitted by email to the Editor-in-Chief (Professor R. S. The accompanying figures (in separate files) should be in uncompressed .tif files.All manuscripts are peer-reviewed before acceptance, which is based upon significance and originality of results, and of validity of conclusions. BIT was started by Carl Erik Fröberg in 1961. The name is an acronym for 'Tidskrift för Informationsbehandling' read backwards. From the outset, a wide area of computer science and technology was covered, but since 1992 the focus has been on Numerical Mathematics.
